OUR IDEA

Empower a Woman, Empower a Community

Sheelda Enterprises Limited, with Company Registration RC 1538037, was founded in 2018 to provide a sustainable means of livelihood and socio-economic empowerment for rural women in underserved rural Kidang Village of Borno State in the Northeast, by engaging them based on their skills in local food processing to enable them lift themselves and their families out of poverty. We work with the women and provide training in producing hygienically processed foods and connect the products to a global market.

Sheelda is a Social Enterprise geared toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 5; gender equality and women empowerment, and Goal 8; Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Our Proposal

We believe that the addition of women into the workforce makes for increase in economic diversification, income equality, productivity, gender equality as well as more positive outcomes.

We are working on providing a platform where women can come in contribute, engage, improve their economic standing and decrease the under-employement and unemployment crisis facing women in Africa.

Our major goal is to create successful businesses for women turning them into entrepreneurs, changing the narrative on the gender gap.
